Depression is a mental health disorder that can sometimes be caused, or exacerbated, by a medical condition. Depression causes a persistent feeling of sadness, despair, and a general loss of interest in things. Depression can cause physical symptoms, too, leading to a variety of emotional and physical problems that are difficult to fix on one's own. You may have trouble doing normal day-to-day activities, and depression may make you feel as if life isn't worth living.
